FRIDAY 30TH JULY
We had an eventful time of things at Leicester when BIARAFFA made her racecourse debut. She had been pleasing in her homework and had been working nicely. She unshipped her Jamie before the start and had to be blindfolded to enter the stalls. She travelled well for the majority of the race and finished third. She will have learned a lot from this and a win hopefully will not be too far on the horizon.

JAMIE BEFORE HIS EVENTFUL RIDE ON BIARAAFA
Yesterday we were delighted with SCREENPRINT’S win at Epsom although I think it has to be said that the Godolphin horse was a very unlucky loser as he just could not get a clear run up the rail and when the gap came it was to late and he was just beaten. Our horse raced quite keen on his debut at Yarmouth but settled much better this time at the front of the pack. He appeared to handle Epsom’s undulations and certainly appeared to have the run of things here. He looks to have improved from his first outing and hopefully if he improves again he should be competitive in nurseries. Hopefully he will be well treated as it did not long a particularly strong race.
SCREENPRINT AND HIS GROOM SAMRAN AKHTER
We have no runners today, but MONT AGEL headed off to Goodwood this afternoon to run tomorrow. Sadly Jamie has had to give up his rides as he has hurt his foot in the fall from BIARAAFA and so Tom Queally will now take the mount. He rode him at Royal Ascot so seemed the natural choice as he was available. I am hoping he will run well but the ground certainly will not be in his favour and we have been unlucky with the draw again.

SCREENPRINT SCORES HIS VICTORY
We also have two heading to Doncaster where we are running a nice two-year-old filly called HISTORY REPEATING. She has been doing some nice pieces of work and has been going well. She will certainly come on from the run and hopefully she will give some encouraging signals here. Later on the card it would be great to see STRONG VIGILANCE put his best foot forward in his race. With only seven other runners to face hopefully it will be his day. At Newmarket we are hoping to get Ian Burns his first winner for his stable after riding his first winner for an outside yard last week, He has a good chance on FRECKENHAM who is a filly that is possibly very unlucky to still be a maiden. Sergey her lad had the choice between her and STRONG VIGILANCE; I hope he has made the right choice!
SCREENPRINT'S JOCKEY HAYLEY TURNER
Lenny Anderton who has been helping me with my pictures for the website drives the box for Mahmood Al Zarooni and is often at the races when we have runners. He has very kindly sent me these excellent pictures to use of our runners from Wednesday and Thursday which is amazingly kind of him. Thankfully his photography skills are much better than his ability at the game connect four as I have heard he took a pasting at the races on Wednesday at this particular game!
WEDNESDAY 28TH JULY
On Monday we were pleased with the run from EMPRESS CHARLOTTE. She is still quite green but the penny is certainly starting to drop with her. She took a while to pick up before staying on steadily. She certainly looks like she is going the right way and should appreciate a slightly stiffer test. She has been our only runner so far this week and today we only have BIARAAFA running at Leicester, after ACTIVATE did not get a run in the handicap at Goodwood.
Tomorrow we have just the one runner when SCREENPRINT takes his chance at Epsom Hopefully will show that he has come on from his first run at Yarmouth as he appears to have done in his home work. We feel that although still quite green and a little bit on the weak side, he has the makings of a nice horse. We have no runners on Friday, then quite a few entries for the weekend with no firm definite runners as we speak.
Even after all the rain we had yesterday, the ground was still firm enough for the horses to go up the watered gallop.
FINE STYLE AND STAR SURPRISE
FINE STYLE looks in terrific form and he went nicely working with our Sandown winner STAR SURPRISE who looks to have taken his race well.
MOKALIF, TREND AND AL RANNAN
AL RANNAN certainly looked much sharper after having had his run and he partnered MOKALIF who showed encouraging signs along with TREND.
PHOENIX CITY, MISS VILLEFRANCHE AND MISS AIX
PHOENIX CITY worked well here and MISS VILLEFRANCHE and MISS AIX looks as though they are improving and heading the right way.
FRECKENHAM AND SWEETIE TIME
FRECKENHAM works really well on the watered gallop and she looked in fantastic form ahead of her possible participation down here at Newmarket on Saturday. She went with SWEETIE TIME under Hayley Turner who has fantastic form which is working out really well after her Haydock win.
BURGHLEY
BURGHLEY looked in great form and he has entries coming up a Newmarket on Saturday and Chester on Sunday.
HYPNOTIZED
HYPNOTIZED looked in good form and hopefully is now back to his best.
STRONG VIGILANCE
STRONG VIGILANCE worked nicely and he is entered at Doncaster on Saturday.
MONDAY 26TH JULY
It was really sad on Saturday to see poor MARGOT DID run another fantastic race in group company only to finish second. With a furlong left to run she looked as though she was going to cruise to victory only to be pegged back again by Mick Channon's Soraaya. Having been held up in the centre group, she was still on the bridle when leading over a furlong from home. Hayley had no option than to go for it with the two groups merging as she would not have got the gap had she waited. Once in front she started to hang under pressure and was narrowly beaten. She has taken the race well and could now head for the Lowther at York where hopefully the track will suit this gutsy little filly. We were pleased with MONITOR CLOSELY'S effort and he ran a good race and has taken everything really well. He has returned from York in good form and just appeared to get a bit tired, which he is entitled to do having been off the track for so long and hopefully he will be spot on for next time whatever his next target maybe. At Newmarket it looked as though greenness got the better of UNEX MONET has he had been putting in good efforts in his homework. Slowly away he missed the kick and was always struggling after this. We think he is a nice horse and he will hopefully be much more streetwise next time. HANDELS MESSIAH looked very green on his debut and was found to be not quite right after the race. We will see how he shapes up over the next few days before we make further plans in regards to what he does for the rest of this season.
Tonight we have EMPRESS CHARLOTTE running at Windsor and she has a decent chance on her form. She is a progressive filly who should be competitive in nurseries.
We have no runners tomorrow and then we are hoping that ACTIVATE may get a run in the handicap at Goodwood on Wednesday. We are currently one of the reserves and are hoping that someone will declare a non runner for the race which will mean that we will get a run. We will know our fate by 9.00am tomorrow morning.
In the evening we introduce a nice two-year-old filly called BIARAAFA and she has been doing some nice pieces of work. Hopefully she will not be beaten by greenness, but in a competitive little race hopefully she will give a good account of herself.
We were delighted to see our apprentice Ian Burns ride his first winner on Friday at Thirsk on Poppy Rose. Ian has worked really hard to get himself back after breaking his leg really badly last season. He certainly deserves the success he is now getting as he rides well and is very dedicated to his job. Hopefully he can continue in this form and he has plenty of winners to come.
On Saturday the horses worked on the Watered Gallop.
SCREENPRINT AND SEE THE SMILE
SCREENPRINT looks to have come on from his race at Yarmouth and he went well here partnering SEE THE SMILE over six and half furlongs.
GRUMETI AND LAUGHING JACK
GRUMETI is shaping up in to a nice two year old and he went well working with LAUGHING JACK who continues to improve.
HISTORY REPEATING, BIARAAFA AND SET TO MUSIC
HISTORY REPEATING under Hayley Turner looks to be going the right way and she worked with BIARAAFA who has been declared to run on Wednesday at leicester and should run well and they were also joined by SET TO MUSIC who again worked well under Jamie Spencer.
LADY GABRIELLE AND MISS VILLEFRANCHE
LADY GABRIELLE continues the thrive in her work and she went really well here working with MISS VILLEFRANCHE over six and half furlongs.
MONT AGEL AND ACTIVATE
MONT AGEL worked well here and he has possible opportunities coming up at Goodwood on Saturday and also Deauville on Sunday. ACTIVATE is hoping that there will be a withdrawal at Goodwood on Wednesday so that he gets a run.
FASCINATION (BLUE CAP) SHESELLS SEASHELLS AND BABYCAKES
FASCINATION worked well here and it was great to see SHESELLS SEASHELLS work well as one of her owners Mr Mone had travelled to Newmarket to watch her work. BABYCAKES was settled in behind these two fillies and worked over the mile.
FRIDAY 23RD JULY
We were delighted with STAR SURPRISE'S win on Wednesday evening bringing us to the 31 winner mark for the season. He has been improving with his racing and he built on his fifth last time with a gutsy display, showing far more resolution than the other challengers. He should get another furlong and is a nice prospect for nurseries. At Leicester in the evening AL RANNAN certainly did not run the way we expected and looked very green in his race. He was slowly away which did not help and never really got into the race. Hopefully this experience will sharpen him up and I am sure you will see a different horse next time. Later in the evening we had the two girls taking on each other and it was MING MENG that came out on top beating BOUNCY BOUNCY. Sadly they did npot beat the rest of the field and both finished in the middle of the pack. Both fillies needed the race and hopefully with normal improvement they will come on a lot from the run.
Yesterday we had a decent effort from TACTICIAN who finished second. The ground had possibly gone to soft for his liking and the eventual winner got first run on the rest of the field. He was given time to settle on this step up from one mile four furlongs and stayed on best of the rest in the home straight. He looks as though he wants genuinely quick ground which he should get in August and could be a progressive horse. In the evening ROSA MIDNIGHT gave another decent effort as she still looks very green. She was slowly into her stride, but was in touch towards the rear of the field. She was ridden and asked for effort just over two furlongs out and kept on to go 3rd well inside final furlong. Hopefully she will be like Star Surprise as like him she is improving all the time.
Today we had hoped for big things from CANDYS GIRL but sadly she failed to deliver in what could have been a good race. She ran well, but when asked to go did not find as much as we thought she would and finished in fifth. She will certainly learn from the experience and will hopefully go close next time. At Thirsk we have seen INDIAN WISH finish sixth. She was given every chance by her jockey and was held up and asked for effort on outside three furlongs from home. She hung left and weakened over one furlong out. WILD ROSE rounded off our runners for the days and she travelled nicely for the majority of the race and with two furlongs left to run she was asked for her effort and to make her challenge but could not quicken and faded away to finish fifth
Tomorrow it is great to see MONITOR CLOSELY hit the track at York. He has taken a while to get ready and hopefully as long as he is fit enough he will show the form that we know he is capable of. At Ascot we are excited at the prospect of MARGOT DID running again. Her form is good as Memory who she was second to at Royal Ascot has since won again in the Group 2 Cherry Hinton. She has been working well and is in great form ahead of the race. At Newmarket we introduce two nice two-year-old colts called UNEX MONET and HANDEL'S MESSIAH. UNEX MONET has been working well and we expect him to give a good account of himself. HANDLE'S MESSIAH is a really nice looking colt and as long as he does not race to green, we think he is a nice horse who will show plenty o promise.
WEDNESDAY 21ST JULY
Yesterday we had just the one runner at Yarmouth which was BLUE ZEALOT. She raced quite green and was soon pushed along. She plugged on past beaten horses inside the final furlong. It looked as though she would benefit from a step up in trip as she was staying on at the end of the race, and hopefully this will be on the cards for her next time.
On Thursday we have two runners the first of these being TACTICIAN who appears to be in great form after his run at Ascot where he did not run as well expected. He looks to be in better form again now and hopefully will go close. At Folkestone we send ROSA MIDNIGHT who ran well on her debut at Newbury. She appears to have come on from the run and fingers crossed should have a good chance.
On Friday we have a good looking two-year-old filly hitting the track called CANDY GIRL and she has been putting in some good work at home that has pleased us a lot. She will be up against it in an Ascot maiden but we feel she is a nice filly and deserves to take her chance. At Thirsk we have declared INDIAN WISH who has been in good form since her run at Kempton. She looks to have progressed from the race and we hope she will show that here. Also on the card we have WILD ROSE, who worked nicely on Saturday. She appears to be in tip top form and could run a big race.
Today the horses worked on the watered gallop
ADMISSION
ADMISSION looked in great form and he has been entered in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes.

FINE STYLE AND SEE THE SMILE
FINE STYLE continues to show ability and seems to be heading the right way for a run shortly as does SEE THE SMILE who is another who will be a nice horse for later/next year.
TREND AND MOKALIF
TREND has taken his recent gelding operation well and he went nicely with MOKALIF who is shaping into a nice horse.
MARGOT DID, CANDYS GIRL AND UNEX MONET
MARGOT DID is in fantastic form ahead of her run at Ascot on Saturday and she worked nicely with CANDYS GIRL who has been declared to run on Friday at Ascot and UNEX MONET who could run on Saturday, here at Newmarket.
MYSTIC EGDE AND MISS AIX
MYSTIC EDGE and MISS AIX worked nicely together and look to be taking shape.
TUESDAY 20TH JULY
Yesterday we had the two runners, the first of these being LOCHAN MOR at Ayr. He was giving a massive amount of weight to the eventual winner who was also ridden by a three pound claimer but came with a late run and dead heated for second with Ginger Ted. Dropping back to six furlongs from possibly his favoured seven furlongs he stayed on strongly towards the stands´ side. He certainly has the pace to win over six furlongs and has been entered again on Monday at Windsor over the same trip. He is due to return from Scotland this afternoon and we will see how he has taken the race. In the evening MAMA LULU carried on ours and her run of seconds by finishing again in this position. She led early on and was headed when edged left over one furlong out, but had no chance with the winner.
Today we have BLUE ZEALOT running at Yarmouth and we are hoping for a good effort from her. She has now been given a handicap rating and although we feel it could be at the top end of her ability hopefully she will run a good race here.
Tomorrow we have a nice two-year-old making his racecourse debut called AL RANNAN. He has been giving some encouraging signs in his work and should give a good account of himself here. Later on the card we have two fillies running that have been kept of the track with niggley problems, but MING MENG has been putting in some nice efforts on the gallops at home and we are hoping that she is back to her best. I feel BOUNCY BOUNCY will benefit from the run, but she does hold ability and hopefully she will eventually turn out like her mother Wunderbra who we trained to win five races. At Sandown we have STAR SURPRISE running and he is a nice horse who is really starting to come in himself. It looks a tough contest here but he goes well and is learning all the time.
On Saturday the horses again worked on the watered gallop.

HANDLES MESSIAH AND UNEX MONET
HANDLES MESSIAH worked well here with UNEX MONET and both went well enough to earn entries down here at Newmarket on Saturday.

FINE STYLE AND STAR SURPRISE
FINE STYLE again worked well here and he has numerous entries coming up. He went well with STAR SURPRISE who has been declared at Sandown tomorrow.
LAUGHING JACK AND SAWLAJAN
LAUGHING JACK is a fine looking horse who has not long been in. He gave the right signals here working with SAWLAJAN who is a nice horse but will need a bit of time.
ROSA MIDNIGHT, SET TO MUSIC AND HISTORY REPEATING
ROSA MIDNIGHT continues to progress after her run and she has been declared for Folkestone on Thursday. SET TO MUSIC looks as though she is developing into a nice filly and HISTORY REPEATING looks as though she need another piece of work before she does herself justice on the track.
MARGOT DID AND MAMA LULU
MARGOT DID looked classy as she worked with MAMA LULU. She is entered on Saturday at Ascot and hopefully after her second to Memory who has since won again we hope she will run a big race. MAMA LULU ran well last night at Windsor but annoyingly finished second, making three seconds out of three runs.
MONITOR CLOSELY AND MOYENNE CORNICHE
MONITOR CLOSELY looked in good form and he has been entered at York on Friday. MOYENNE CORNICHE is waiting for significant rain which sadly we do not seem to be getting any of.

WILD ROSE
WILD ROSE looked in great form and could head to Thirsk on Friday.

SHESELLS SEASHELLS
SHESELLS SEASHELLS worked over the straight eight furlongs and she is entered down here at Newmarket on Friday night.
BABYCAKES
BABYCAKES worked over eight furlongs and is waiting for the right race.
HYPNOTIZED
HYPNOTIZED looked in good form doing an easy piece of work and he is being given plenty of time after his Ascot run.
MONDAY 19TH JULY
On Friday after GRAMERCY’S win it left us with a positive vibe for SYRIAN at Newmarket. He was steadied at the start as he had been on his previous start at Newmarket. He was asked for effort over two furlongs out and soon weakened and was eased. He is a difficult horse to fathom out but he will have his day, this I am sure off.
On Saturday MOTIRANI headed to Ripon and he did not run as well as we expected. He was sat in midfield and with three left to run he was asked for his effort but soon weakened and was eased when out of contention. At Haydock our best finishing position was another second to add to the many we have had this season and this was achieved by ROYAL LIAISON. She was switched to a nursery and was dropping back in trip after three encouraging runs in six furlong maidens. She was relatively slow to stride and tagged on the back of the pack early on, but was travelling well two furlongs out and when eased left between rivals, she stayed on encouragingly. A win is certainly on the cards for her after some consistent efforts and hopefully it will come sooner rather than later. Later on the card we had HIGHLAND LEGACY who was back on his favoured softer ground. He raced in third for much of the contest and looked as though he was going to win, but faded inside the last two furlongs. He seems to be fine after the race but he does not seem to be showing the form that we know he is capable of. Our last runner of the evening was MISS CHAUMIERE she raced in midfield and when asked to go she soon weakened and finished down the field. At Hamburg we finished fifth with ALLIED POWERS but he ran a cracking race only being beaten a length in what was a really close finish. It was a shame that more significant rain did not arrive for him as he would have been really hard to beat, but he ran well and we could not ask for any more than that. He is due to arrive home today and we will see how he is before making further plans. He has other entries abroad coming up in Baden Baden and Cologne towards the end of the season where hopefully he should get conditions in his favor.
Today we have a good chance with LOCHAN MOR at Ayr providing they get all the rain they have been forecast to get. He has been in great form at home and has been waiting for some rain to arrive. This evening we have MAMA LULU running at Windsor and hopefully she can go one better than she did on her last two starts. She is a filly with ability and hopefully she will show it here.
FRIDAY 16TH JULY
Thankfully we won the appeal yesterday in regards to the Magnet Cup. It would have been harsh to lose it and we are delighted for his connections and the horse as he has been really unlucky to not to have won more races this year.
We had three runners yesterday with PROMPTER heading to Leicester and STRONG VIGILANCE and REGENERATION heading to Epsom. PROMPTER took a keen hold in front and after being headed over two furlongs out, could only stay on at the same pace. He appears to have taken the race well and we will see how he is in his work before making further plans. In the evening at Epsom STRONG VIGILANCE was well backed but he does look somewhat tricky when eventually asked for his effort. He holds ability and it was a better effort from him. REGENERATION was very well backed on this return to turf and he seems to have a liking for a left-handed track. He was never far away and had his chance, but again left the impression the handicapper could possibly have the measure of him. He is such a genuine little horse and hopefully he will have more chances to win before the end of the season.
Today we have seen GRAMERCY run at Haydock and it was great to see him get his head in front after some consistent efforts. The softer ground looks the key to him and it was a really good effort. He was given a great ride by Jamie and settled towards the rear when asked to go the victory never looked in any doubt. It has been a busy half an hour as we went from Haydock straight to Newbury to see BAKONGO run. Sadly she did no run as well as we had hoped and at one point it looked as though she may make a challenge but this amounted to nothing and she faded away. We will see how she is before making further plans for her.
This evening we have the one runner at Newmarket where hopefully SYRIAN can get his head in front. He ran well at the July Course on his last start and hopefully with Kieran Fallon booked to ride hopefully he will go one better here.
Tomorrow we have ALLIED POWERS in Hamburg and hopefully he can keep his winning sequence on foreign soil going. At Ripon we have MOTIRANI running after we re-routed him from Doncaster where the ground was not suitable. He should have a good chance and hopefully with conditions in his favour he will run a good race. At Haydock we have the three runners and ROYAL LIAISON kicks thing of for us here. She is now in nursery company which we feel is the right route for her and we think she should run well. Also at Haydock HIGHLAND LEGACY is back on his favoured soft ground and with things much more in his favour we think that he will run very well. Our last runner to round the evening at the track off is MISS CHAUMIERE and she will appreciate the give in the ground. She has been improving and hopefully will give a good account of herself.
WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY
Well after getting ourselves out of the cold column we could be heading right back into in if Wigmore Hall is demoted after his win in the Magnet Cup. With the appeal due tomorrow, we have everything crossed that we will not lose out and have the race taken off us which we feel would be really harsh, but I am sure this is the way Tom Tate and his team feel. Who would be poor Jamie Spencer!
Yesterday we had just the one runner and that was SCREENPRINT a nice two-year -old colt by Shamardal who was making his racecourse debut. He raced quite green and keen early on and was staying on in the closing stages without ever threatening to make the frame. He will come on a lot from the run and hopefully will shape up into a nice horse.
Today we have seen FRECKENHAM add to out ever growing list of seconds. She made all and looked as though she would win but a 33/1shot came and closed her down in the dying strides. It surely is only a matter of time before she breaks her maiden tag.
We are busy tomorrow with runners at various meetings. PROMPTER kicks things off for us at Leicester and he will need the forecast rain to enhance his chances. At Epsom we have STRONG VIGILANCE running and he has worked with a visor on and a change of tactics we hope will be the key for him. He is not racing in the visor but hopefully he will put his ability to use tomorrow. Later on the card we have REGENERATION running at Epsom and he is another who will be helped by the rain arriving at the track. Our last runner is MOTIRANI and without keep repeating myself, he has been crying out for soft ground. He has ability and hopefully some juice in the ground is the key to him showing his full potential.
Also tomorrow we have ALLIED POWERS leaving for Hamburg where he contests the Group One Preis Grosser Handsa Preis. He leaves at 5.00am and gets the ferry from Dover to Calais and stops at Cologne for the evening making his way on to Hamburg the next day. It will be a long five days but a win from the horse will make it go much quicker for Ian and Kevin who are taking the horse. Hopefully he will get the ground that he desires.
Today the horses worked on the watered gallop and my tutor Lenny Anderton was up helping me again. He took some really nice pictures, but mine did not come out to bad either.
CANDYS GIRL, BIARAAFA AND ROYAL LIAISON
CANDYS GIRL is shaping up into a really nice filly and has been entered at Windsor on Monday evening. She was joined by BIARAAFA who looks as though she will soon be adding points to my six to follow and ROYAL LIAISON who is entered on Saturday also joined this group.
AL RANNAN, FINE STYLE AND SEE THE SMILE
These three colts worked well together and are just waiting for suitable races to run in.
WAYWARD GLANCE
WAYWARD GLANCE did an easy piece of work following the earlier three colts up and looks to be a really nice horse.
MOHEDIAN LADY, MISS VILLEFRANCHE AND LADY GABRIELLE
MOHEDIAN LADY looks an exciting prospect and she went well with MISS VILLEFRANCHE who is improving all the time. They gave a lead to LADY GABRIELLE who was having her first experience up the gallops and although quite green she went encouragingly well. She only has one eye and how she copes she really is an amazing filly.
MING MENG
MING MENG went well under Jamie Spencer and signs look encouraging for her.
BOUNCY BOUNCY
BOUNCY BOUNCY worked over six furlongs and looked as though she needs a bit more work.
ALLIED POWERS
ALLIED POWERS worked well on his own in preparation for his run at Hamburg.
ACTIVATE AND TACTICIAN
ACTIVATE looked in good form and he is just waiting for the right race on the right ground. He went over eight furlongs with TACTICIAN who appeared to be back in good health.
BLUE ZEALOT AND SHESELLS SEASHELLS
BLUE ZEALOT appeared in good order after her sore foot problem that kept her from running at Leicester and she worked well enough to earn an entry at Yarmouth on Tuesday. SHESELLS SEASHELLS looks to be in good form after her race at Windsor and went nicely.
MONDAY 12TH JULY
Yippee we have had a winner! WIGMORE HALL has made a start in getting us out of the cold column by going in at York on Saturday. He ran so well to finish third having met trouble in the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot, and being able to make ground through runners in this big field on a spacious track certainly suited him. The pace was not as fast as he probably would have liked but he was always travelling well and having got to the front inside the final furlong, was just able to hold on. He has taken the race well and we are thrilled with him. It was also great for his lad Kevin McEvoy who has been in racing for forty years and it certainly was his biggest winner to date. Also on Saturday we had BURGHLEY at Ascot. Back up in trip, the gelding raced rather keenly through the early parts and lacked the requisite pace in the latter stages. He carried his head just a shade high and this ground might have been a little fast for him. He is capable of better and I am sure on the right ground you will see a different horse. At Nottingham we had EMPRESS CHARLOTTE running. She looks to have improved a little on her recent Newmarket debut but never threatened here from a bad draw and might be more one for nurseries later in the season. MONT AGEL headed off to the pretty French town of Deauville. He settled very well and was sat in second with two left to run. He did not find a lot and finished sixth. The ground was good but maybe he needs it on the soft side of good to see the best of him. Its a shame as he has been looking impressive in his work at home. He arrived back in Newmarket yesterday and appears to have taken the race well.
On Friday evening we were pleased with ROSA MIDNIGHT'S display at Newbury. She shaped as though the step up to a bit further would be more to her liking and she is bound to come on from the run. As predicted the George Washington filly won the race and it would be great if she could turn out to be something special like her father.
We have no runners today and then tomorrow we introduce a nice colt of Sheikh Marwan's called SCREENPRINT. He has been going nicely at home and we think if he does not show a lot of greeness he should run a nice race. He will certainly improve for the racecourse experience and we like him a lot .
On Wednesday we are left with just the one runner at Lingfield where we are hoping FRECKENHAM will get of the mark. She is a talented little filly who should have possibly won her maiden by now.
On Saturday the horses worked on the watered gallop. It was a great morning to be out as MONITOR CLOSELY was doing an easy piece of work and he was watched by his owner Mr Inman.
UNEX MONET AND STAR SURPRISE
UNEX MONET looks as though he is maturing into a nice horse and he worked well with STAR SURPRISE under the eye of UNEX MONET'S owner Mr Gredley.
GRUMETI AND RIVIERA STARS
GRUMETI looks to be shaping into a nice colt and he did an easy piece of work with RIVIERA STARS. Both look as though they are heading in the right direction and look to be nice prospects.
FRECKENHAM
FRECKENHAM looks in great form ahead of her run at Lingfield on Wednesday.
INDIAN WISH, SET TO MUSIC AND PHOENIX CITY
INDIAN WISH sadly did not get a run in her arce at Kempton on Wednesday and she appeared in terrific form here. SET TO MUSIC looks as though she is almost ready for a run and PHOENIX CITY looks to be shaping in the right direction and is not far from a run.
REGENERATION
REGENERATION was ridden by John Maxse and he is entered at Epsom on Thursday but will only run if the rains ever arrive.
STRONG VIGILANCE AND PROMPTER
STRONG VIGILANCE wore head gear for the first time in his work and he went with PROMPTER who is entered at various meeting this week but again he is crying out for some rain.
LOMBOK
LOMBOK looks to have taken his gelding operation well and he went on his own.

MOYENNE CORNICHE AND MONITOR CLOSELY
MOYENNE CORNICHE looks in good form ahead of his possible run at Maisons-Laffitte on Saturday and he led MONITOR CLOSELY who was having his first spin up the gallops after having a course of swimming sessions.
ALLIED POWERS
ALLIED POWERS looks in great from and he could possibly head to Hamburg at the weekend but he will need to have good ground or easier.
MOTIRANI AND MISS CHAUMIERE
MOTIRANI looks in good form and is now waiting for some rain. He worked with MISS CHAUMIERE who seemed to appreciate the give in the ground.
BAKONGO AND BABYCAKES
BAKONGO looked in good form and she went nicely with her usual working partner BABYCAKES who looks in great form.
FRIDAY 9TH JULY

Its an absolutely scorching day in Newmarket today and temperatures have really soared this afternoon proving wearing jeans was not a good idea for work. We were due to have MAMA LULU running this afternoon but sadly she was not quite right and had to be declared a non runner. She is a nice filly, so it is the right decision to withdraw her as she will not want to give her all if she is not feeling quite right. That left us with just GRAMERCY to watch this afternoon and he looked awkward at the start when jumping from the stalls and slightly missed the break. He ran a good race and just found one to good that has been running up a sequence of wins in the horse Joe Packet who we were giving weight to. Tonight we have ROSA MIDNIGHT and hopefully she will run well. There will be a lot of interest in the race as George Washington's only progeny makes her racecourse debut, so I am sure all eyes will be on her.

Tomorrow we have four runners the first of these being BURGHLEY. He is a nice horse, but could possibly find the ground to lively for him here. he holds ability and is a nice horse. At Nottingham we have EMPRESS CHARLOTTE making her re-appearance after her run at Newmarket and she looks to have come on a lot from her racecourse experience. She has not got the best of draws but hopefully that will not inconvenience her and she will give a good account of herself. WIGMORE HALL will need a lot of luck in running in the Magnet Cup, but he holds a good chance on his form in this twenty runner field. He has come out of his race at Royal Ascot really well and hopefully he will put a smile on the Fitzroy faces as we are desperate to get out of the cold column and have a winner. MONT AGEL has headed to France this morning and as long as the ground does not dry out he should have a good chance of getting off the mark for the season. I like this horse a lot and he has looked really good in his work.

Yesterday our draft sold well enough at Tattersalls July Sales with AL DAFA being the highest lot we sold. It is such a sad time and it brought a tear to the eye to see MEZZANISI go. He has been such a star who was so consistent, but could not put his niggley little problems behind him and his owners were so patient with him. He has been brought by Peter Bowen and I think if he is given time he could be a shrewd buy. Its great that he will be staying in this country and he is definitely one I will be keeping an eye out for. TELL HALAF is another who provided points for my six to follow and I will be sad to see the back off. He is a consistent progressive animal and more victories are surely on the card for him although he has been rising in the handicap for his consistency. .

As promised we have some pictures of the Fitzroy House Owners Party which was a great success. Thankfully it was a much cooler day than today!

WEDNESDAY 7TH JULY
The weather has completely changed today bringing a much cooler day and although we had some rain last night it was of no significance. Thankfully things have started to pick up and look like being a bit busier on Friday.
We had two runners yesterday which we were hoping would bring us out of the cold column in the press but sadly to no avail. The first of our runners was FASCINATION who had headed to Pontefract to take her chance. She set out to make all and soon had the field strung out. She still held a good advantage at the furlong marker, but was starting to come back to the field and just got passed by the winner. She has now run three times and has the option of handicaps. At Southwell I thought JUICY PEAR did not run his best having raced early on up with the pace he dropped away quite tamely and finished seventh. He heads to the July Sales now and hopefully when sold he will give his new connections a lot of fun.
Tomorrow we have no runners, but on Friday we have MAMA LULU running here at Newmarket. She has finished second twice now and on her last start she was beaten by a really nice horse of Godolphins who is by all accounts really well thought off. She deserves to break her maiden tag and hopefully it is something she will achieve here. At Newbury we have a really nice two year old filly making her debut called ROSA MIDNIGHT. She has been giving encouraging signals at home and it is great to get her on the track and see how she fairs as she is a nice individual. Our last runner heads to Ascot and is GRAMERCY. He kicks off what could be a big weekend for his owner Mr Hawtin who has WIGMORE HALL running in the Magnet Cup at York on Saturday both have good chances.
Today we have had our owners lunch party which starts of July Week for us. It has been great to see all our owners today who enjoyed a lovely lunch and it was really great to meet all the new owners that we have got this year as well. I have taken some pictures of the lunch party which I will be putting on the website on Friday.
The horses worked today again on the watered gallop.
LOCHAN MOR AND OLD MASTER EXPERT
LOCHAN MOR worked well and is just crying out for some rain. He led his usual work partner OLD MASTER EXPERT who is just being waited with until we hopefully find the right race for him.

AL RANNAN (J. SPENCER) HANDELS MESSIAH, FINE STYLE (H. TURNER) AND SEE THE SMILE
This bunch of colts are all starting to work with plenty of encouragement. They all worked well finishing nicely together here and hopefully they are only one or two pieces from a run.
MING MENG AND BOUNCY BOUNCY
MING MENG and BOUNCY BOUNCY are two fillies who have been kept from running due to niggley little problems. They worked well together and hopefully should be ready to hit the track towards the end of the month. Both are heading in the right direction.
ROSA MIDNIGHT AND SWEETIE TIME
ROSA MIDNIGHT looked good here ahead of her run at Newbury on Friday working well with SWEETIE TIME whose form from her win at Haydock is working out really well. She just needs some rain before she runs again.

HISTORY REPEATING AND MISS VILLEFRANCHE
HISTORY REPEATING is starting to work well and she went with MISS VILLEFRANCHE who looks as though she is going the right way. MISS VILLEFRANCHE is still quite green and possibly needs a bit more work.
MONT AGEL
MONT AGEL looked in fantastic form and he heads to France on Friday to run at Deauville on Saturday in the Prix de Saint Patrick where hopefully he should have a really good chance.
MYSTIC EDGE AND MISS AIX
MYSTIC EDGE and MISS AIX showed encouraging signs in what was there first piece of work. The both met the rising ground together and finished nicely upsides.
MONDAY 5TH JULY
Sadly we had just the one runner on Saturday after withdrawing BAKONGO as she did not eat up and BLUE ZEALOT who had bruised her foot and was lame. This left us with just CRUNCHED at Nottingham. He has been raised 5lb since successful at Doncaster last time and he tracked the winner throughout the race He could not cut down the winner´s lead however hard he tried in the closing stages and ended his effort in second. It was another good run from a horse that looks as though he has found his form.
It is getting really frustrating with the weather which has left us with a lack of runners. Tomorrow we have chances at Pontefract, where FASCINATION we are hoping will break her maiden tag. She has been a progressive filly since she arrived and hopefully today will be her day. In the evening Ian Burns our apprentice is looking to go one better on JUICY PEAR and he has been in good form of late. Hopefully the horse will get his second career win before heading to the July Sales and it will give Ian his first.
We have declared nothing for Wednesday and have no entries on Thursday but Friday and Saturday will hopefully be busier.
FRIDAY 2ND JULY
Well Sadly we are still waiting for our 28 winner after our four runners this week failed to add to our tally.
HIGHLAND LEGACY was the first of these and he ran on Wednesday evening at Kempton. Jamie felt that he did not handle the track which we were not expecting as he seems to go well on it at home. He is capable of winning races and we just wish he could get his head in front as he is owned by lovely Mr Warren who has been at Fitzroy since the start. On his second at Salisbury you feel it is only a matter time and hopefully he will show his ability when the rains finally arrives.
On Thursday we had two runners and TELL HALAF has been both busy and consistent this year. He raced far too keen early on and when asked for is effort he edged left and had nothing in reserve. He heads to the July Sales now and hopefully he will give his new connections plenty of fun as he is a nice horse. Later on the card AL DAFA who is very hard work for his rider and was being ridden along from an early stage. He was going on fairly well at the finish and possibly a step back up to least 1m2f looks to suit him better. He will probably stay further than that given his running style and he to could be a nice buy for someone.
Today we have just seen STAR SURPRISE run at Sandown and he ran well to finish fifth. He is still quite a burly horse who is very green, but is improving from his racing and hopefully this race will now have put him spot on to break his maiden
Tomorrow we are hopeful of another good run from CRUNCHED who won last time. He has been working well and seems to have things in his favour now. At Leicester we have BAKONGO running and she looks to be back to her best after a disappointing run last time . She holds ability and hopefully she in now back to her best Our final runner at Leicester is BLUE ZEALOT and after a couple of quick races she has been given a bit more time which she seems to have appreciated. She is a lovely bred filly and it would be great to see her go close here.
